Dear competitors
The twenty-sixth High Peak 40 is now behind us. You may not be thinking about next year yet but sad to say I am.
I have booked Saturday 21st September for the 2013 High Peak 40 and I hope to see many of you then. I have been threatening on-line entries for some years and I think it may be getting closer – 2013 might be the year. I know that for the 2012 race there were only two competitors who did not have the internet and of course I mustn’t exclude them or others like them. It is points like this which have to ironed out.
On-line entry reminds me to ask you all to ensure that your spam filters accept the e-mail address hp40@btinternet.com as safe. This has caused problems for some of you this year.
I must update you on the route situation. Next year we revert to Cadster Lane and the path up the fields to Ollerenshaw Farm. It is much more pleasant than what you have had to contend with for the last few years. Of course the web-site will reflect this change.
I have said a great deal about the volunteers who help out on the day and without whom this event could not take place. Some of them I know but some I never even met. My most heartfelt thanks go to all of them.
Finally thanks to all of you for taking part and I hope to see you all next year.
