Dear competitors
The twenty-ninth High Peak 40 is now behind us. It seemed to come round very quickly after the twenty-eighth.
Twelve months ago I published the course records and posed the question when would they be beaten. I am very pleased to confirm that the ladies course record was broken by Sally Fawcett, a member of Dark Peak Fell Runners. Her time was 6.07.37 and what’s more Sally was second overall.
The course records are therefore as follows :-
• Men overall – Mick Bradley (1997) in 5.02.41.
• Ladies overall – Sally Fawcett (2015) in 6.07.37
I think, Gentleman, it’s your turn next but don’t bank on it!!
Check point times and certificates will be issued later by e-mail where possible – maybe as late as November.
The 2016 High Peak 40 will be on Saturday 17th September and I hope to see many of you then. Entries will be open in the New Year.
I have said a great deal about the volunteers who help out on the day and without whom this event could not take place. Some of them I know but some I have never even met. My most heartfelt thanks go to all of them.
Finally thanks to all of you for taking part and I hope to see you all next year. Don’t forget the date — Saturday 17 September 2016.
