Dear competitors
The twenty-fifth High Peak 40 is now behind us. Taking part this year was a competitor who actually had taken part in, and finished, all twenty-five. I wonder if any of this year’s first timers will do the next twenty-four
I must update you on the route situation. The decision to add Cadster Lane to the footpath map of Derbyshire has been made but the footpath in question has to be surveyed before the order is made. Then there is the obligatory appeal period. If an appeal is made who knows when it might be settled.
I have said a great deal about the volunteers who help out on the day and without whom this event could not take place. Some of them I know but some I never even seen. My most heartfelt thanks go to all of them.
I have booked Saturday 15th September for the 2012 High Peak 40 and I hope to see many of you then. Entry forms will be e-mailed to all of you in due course but It is likely I shall move to on-line entries for 2012. Moving to on-line entries means that I don’t need to have the entry form on the website. That aspect of things did not work out last year and you will see changes as far as the website is concerned.
I must apologise for the results being published so late this year. I shall try not to make a habit of that.
Finally thanks to all of you for taking part and I hope to see you all next year.
