Race Reports

Dear competitors
Another year has passed and so has another High Peak 40. It was good to see familiar faces and also good to see new and, dare I say it, younger faces. May the High Peak 40 be an introduction to the world of Ultra Races
I hold out no hopes that next year the route might revert to the 2007 and earlier version. The addition of Cadster Lane to the footpath map of Derbyshire is still progressing but slowly. I would have liked to see a return to hot meals at the finish but I think that we (you and I) must accept what we have at present. Any improvements which we can make will be made.
I have said a great deal about the volunteers who help out on the day and without whom this event could not take place. Some of them I know but some I never even see. My most heartfelt thanks go to all of them.
I have booked Saturday 17th September for the 2011 High Peak 40 and I hope to see any of you then. Entry forms will be e-mailed to all of you in due course. Last year I intimated that online entries might be possible in 2010 but 2011 may be the year. The entry form will also be on the website – www.highpeak40.co.uk.
Finally thanks to all of you for taking part and I hope to see you all next year.
